I love to cook, I love to eat, I love all things purple and i just so happen to be vegan!
I have been vegan since May 2013. It started as a pledge to go vegetarian for 30 days after watching the documentary Forks Over Knives (if you haven't seen it you must watch it tonight!). I was only 2 weeks in when I decided to go completely vegan for the remainder of my pledge. Before I knew it one month turned into two, and two to three. I was feeling more alive, my weight was slowly leveling off and my skin was getting clearer and brighter. That was enough for me to continue my vegan lifestyle. I am not your typical vegan. Yes I hate the way animals are slaughtered for their meat, but my decision to become vegan was predominately dietary. My decision was made watching my paternal grandmother's vibrancy fade from health challenges which include diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I help my grandmother make better food choices by helping myself make better food choices. I eat to LIVE not LIVE to eat!
